CALIFORNIA FIRE FOUNDATION
Investing in a Fire Resilient California
Wildfire Disaster Relief & Recovery Grant
California firefighters understand the reality of wildfires and natural disasters in this state better than anyone—the same way they understand the challenges of the recovery process after flames are put out. At the California Fire Foundation (CFF), we help make that recovery stronger than ever by delivering new grant opportunities directly to those on the front lines and the communities they serve.
CFF is accepting applications for the Wildfire Disaster Relief & Recovery Grant in Los Angeles and Ventura counties to provide essential support for:
Long-term recovery efforts
Equipment upgrades
Community education outreach
Wildfire mitigation to affected communities
Fire departments, tribes, nonprofits, and local associations can secure $25,000 to $100,000 to support these initiatives.
Additional Funding Opportunities Coming Soon
Thanks to statewide voter approval of Proposition 4 in 2024, California is unlocking a historic investment to prepare for wildfire readiness. The California Fire Foundation has been granted $13.8 million to strengthen firefighter safety, community preparedness, and prevention efforts statewide. Beginning in early 2026, local fire departments, CPF locals, and nonprofits will be able to access grant awards up to $1 million for projects such as:
Cancer prevention and behavioral health programs
Specialized firefighting equipment
Vegetation and fuels management
Public education and preparedness campaigns
CFF offers quarterly funding cycles, creating more opportunities to apply and create a more resilient California.
