Dedicated on the historic grounds of the State Capitol in April 2002, the California Firefighters Memorial embodies the honor, courage, duty and sacrifice of those firefighters that we have lost in the line- of-duty. They will never be forgotten.

Due to the COVID-19 virus and the associated continued uncertainty the pandemic presents, the 2020 California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony has been canceled in Sacramento. In lieu of an in-person ceremony, a 2020 California Firefighters Memorial Tribute will be made available. Ensuring the safety of all family members, firefighters and attendees, the tribute will include a commemorative video that enables us to honor the courage, duty and sacrifice of the fallen while protecting everyone’s well-being.

As part of the 2020 California Firefighters Memorial Tribute, names will still be engraved on the Memorial Wall for 2020 in California State Capitol Park, Sacramento. All names added to the wall in 2020 will be honored at the 2021 California Firefighters' Memorial Ceremony along with 2021 honorees.

The video tribute will be available to view on the California Fire Foundation’s website and via social media channels on September 26, 2020.
