Ballot Propositions
YES on Prop 2 - Schools Bond for Safety Upgrades:
Funds repairs and renovations to public schools and community colleges to modernize fire sprinklers, fire alarms, and smoke detectors.
YES on Prop 4 - Wildfire, Water, and Climate Resilience Bond:
Funds specialized firefighting equipment, firefighter health and safety investments, vegetation mitigation, fuels reduction, and the Wildfire Conservancy using existing state tax revenues.
YES on Prop 5 - Local Government Bonds for Fire Facilities and Equipment:
Allows cities, counties, and fire districts to pass bonds for new and upgraded fire stations, personal protective equipment, vehicles, and interoperable communication systems with 55 percent voter approval.
YES on Prop 6 - Ban on Involuntary Servitude:
Eliminates an outdated provision of the California Constitution that forces prison labor at the expense of treatment and education services that rehabilitate incarcerated individuals and better prevent their recidivism.
YES on Prop 32 - Minimum Wage Increase:
Raises the state minimum wage to $18 an hour by 2026 to the benefit of seasonal fire crews, EMTs, and other emergency response personnel who currently earn minimum wage.
YES on Prop 34 - Penalties for Deadbeat Health Care Providers:
Holds accountable healthcare providers that aren't directing their revenue toward patient care or use their revenue to operate substandard housing with severe safety violations.
